FAQ
Below are just a few frequently asked questions however if your question hasn't been answered here or anywhere else on the site, then please feel free to contact me to ask and I will do my best to answer your question.
-
Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?Absolutely not, whilst it is always a good idea to have a few sessions to really know whether it is going to work for you, you are never obligated to come back for another session.
-
Are sessions confidential? There are a few exceptions but these are explained when you attend the first session and are for the safety of yourself and others. Other than these, it is very important you understand that I maintain the strictest confidentiality when it comes to the sessions. I also adhere to the General Data Protection Act (GDPR), which means any information I hold about clients are held securely so only I have access to them. If you have any more questions about this, please feel free to ask me.
-
What can I talk about? You can talk about anything that is on your mind and that you want to talk about. Counselling really is safe space for you and for you to be able to process any difficulties you are having.

How long will counselling last? With choosing a private counsellor, there are no set amount of sessions that you are restricted to as opposed to other services where 6 sessions are normally allocated. The amount of sessions needed varies so much from one person to the next that it is difficult to say. This could also change from one session to the next so we would regularly review the sessions to account for this, to see whether more sessions are required or if you feel you only need another one or two. Bottom line is, there is alot of flexbility and you have choices.
